What is involved in a Closet Edit? How can it help me?

A Closet Edit is an affordable luxury and the foundation to great style. Having a Closet Edit will also save you time because you’ll know exactly what to wear and where to find it.

We begin by discussing your wardrobe goals, lifestyle needs, and your desired personal style. Focusing on one category at a time, we examine each piece of clothing to determine if it works with your needs and goals. Based on this, we decide what you should keep and what can be donated. Of course, the final decision is yours. After we’ve gone through your wardrobe, we organize the closet so you know what you have and how to put an outfit together—easily and quickly. 

A Closet Edit takes 2-3 hours although, depending on your wardrobe, it can take up to 4 hours.

My closet is disorganized, and I am embarrassed.

Please don’t be embarrassed. The purpose of a Closet Edit is to figure out how to maximize the wardrobe you already have. It doesn’t matter how unorganized or unclean your closet is. The goal is to make your closet function positively for you.

When the Closet Edit is complete, you will have an organized closet you can be proud of.

A Closet Edit gives you a fresh perspective of what you already have. It can be as uplifting and refreshing as splurging on a new wardrobe. It would be great if everyone could go on one of those makeover shows that gives you $5,000 for a new wardrobe. But most of us have to wear what we currently have and slowly update and add to our wardrobe. 

You don't need to rush out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new wardrobe.

Often clients will buy a piece each month, and we can even do the shopping for you! You don't have to go all out when you do start buying - a few accessories will dress up any outfit.

I would like to use a personal stylist, but I wonder if the style we decide on will work for me.

My goal is to help you develop your own unique style. Your lifestyle, background, preferences, and style goals are all considered in helping you develop your personal style. Together we can create looks that are unique and provide confidence and show off your personality.

If I already have a personal style I like, will you try to change it? Are you going to make me throw away all my favorite clothes?

Not at all. If you already have a style that you are happy with, Charleston Style Concierge can give you ideas on how to make your wardrobe more versatile. We will never try to lead you to a style you would be unhappy with.

Sometimes we hold on to clothes because we are stuck in a style routine, not so much because the pieces are favorite items. If this is the case, or you are not sure, we can talk about it, and you may decide to donate them. The choice is ultimately yours.

Certain clothes are true favorites for a reason. Charleston Style Concierge is not here to change that, but to help you feel and look your best. You might fall in love with those favorites all over again with a fresh look at how you can wear them!

Can I afford this?

Many people think having a personal stylist or a personal shopper is a luxury they can’t afford. Any budget can afford the services of a personal stylist or personal shopper.

When you work with us, you are gaining invaluable knowledge to save you money and time for the rest of your life. You are learning something, not simply having a style transformation.

Our services are an investment that helps you save money by showing you how to make better shopping choices. You will find you buy less and wear more of what you already have. Charleston Style Concierge has helped clients find wardrobe pieces from stores ranging from Target to Saks and everywhere in between.

Our Personal Shopping Style Retainer service is extremely popular. Each month, we shop for you and find pieces to freshen your look. Clients enjoy having something new and fresh each month without having to go shopping themselves. Style Retainer services can be done in any price range.

What is a Look Book, and why do I need one?

A Look Book makes getting dressed easy. It provides dozens of outfit ideas to make you feel great for any occasion. Whether it’s casual Friday at work or you have a big date, a Look Book helps you pick an outfit quickly and with confidence.

I have friends I'd like to do this with. Can they be included?

Yes. Fashion is always fun with friends, and we offer a variety of services for you to include your friends. Please refer to our Group Style services for more information.

Can I schedule an appointment even if I don’t live in Charleston?

Yes. We can come to you, or we can hold a Virtual Style Consultation over the phone, using a style-assessment workbook and pictures to develop your style.

If we meet outside of Charleston, South Carolina, a travel charge will apply, but we will not charge mileage if you live within a 50-mile radius of Charleston. For anything over 50 miles, Charleston Style Concierge will charge the standard business mileage rate as published by the Internal Revenue Service, currently $0.585 (58 ½ cents) per mile.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

Charleston Style Concierge asks that you respect our cancellation policy. We understand there may be times you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Please give a minimum of 24-hour notice to avoid having your credit card charged for an appointment. To cancel or reschedule, please call (843) 323-2466. Email cancellations are not accepted.

Changes made to a Saturday appointment require a 48-hour notice. Please keep in mind Saturday appointments are highly sought after, and last minute changes mean other clients cannot get an appointment.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. Charleston Style Concierge gift certificates are perfect for friends and family, like your sister who always complains she has nothing to wear (which is why she swiped your favorite sweater!) or the husband looking for the perfect gift for his wife. Our Personal Shopping service can help anyone find the perfect gift for any occasion.
